If trust is so important for personal and professional relationships, why is it in such short supply? If trust is an inarguable universal truth, why does it seem so difficult to define and even more difficult to measure? If trust is vital for employee retention, team productivity, and a healthy workplace culture, why is there a growing epidemic of distrust in all industries? In this presentation, Cory Scheer (Ed.D., EMBA), will share the consequential truth about employee trust and how to take action on it. Drawing from his doctoral research, national research, 25+ years in professional leadership experiences, and various national and international client engagements, Cory will share how trust is definable, measurable, vital, and actionable. Cory will share how the pervasive decline of organizational trust and the ever-widening leader to employee trust gap can be assessed, addressed and improved with research-based and strategic solutions. You will walk away with a deeper understanding of why trust is so vitally important, a practical and memorable trust framework, and proven methods to take action on strengthening trust in your organization.

In today’s rapidly evolving corporate landscape, it is evident that employee mental health demands attention, yet conventional solutions fall short. Rising rates of anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and burnout have reached an all-time high, with no indication of slowing down. Poor mental health exacts a toll on employee performance and imposes costs through absenteeism, disengagement, lost productivity, and soaring healthcare expenses. While EAPs and mindfulness apps offer potential, they remain woefully underutilized, underscoring the need for a more comprehensive approach to employee mental health and wellbeing.

This enlightening session will reshape your understanding of mental health and guide the development of strategies that effectively address your organization’s needs. We will delve into the prevailing mental healthcare model, challenging stigma and outdated perceptions while emphasizing the universal relevance of mental health to every individual within your organization. We will explore the dynamic interplay between mental health and the workplace, shedding light on how optimizing wellbeing impacts both. Finally, we will discuss multi-level solutions to boost utilization of available resources and move beyond mere “checkbox” solutions to forge cultures and initiatives that genuinely nurture wellbeing, fostering sustained success for both individuals and your organization.

“How do teams become high-performing and maintain an elevated standard that promotes sustained business growth?” The answer to this question is one that every leader is faced with at one point or another. As leaders continue to play an indispensable role in their respective teams, ongoing efforts must consider the evolving needs of their employees. This effort includes understanding influences and perceptions of satisfaction with fellow team members and overall culture; areas which can drive productivity, growth, and innovation among others. With input from 2,650 global respondents as well as related insights from experts in the field, Dale Carnegie sought to better understand some of the drivers behind high-performing teams and what sets them apart in the workplace. In addition, we reflect on how considerations surrounding this strategic approach and cultural shift to the workplace impacts the quality of teamwork, satisfaction, and productivity.

This session will be presented by Liz Haberberger,  President, Dale Carnegie Missouri. Liz's enthusiam and passion aren't easily matched. Her number one rule in life is to have fun and help others. If it's not fun, she's not doing it. She is at her best in front of a group or working to solve a complex business challenge. Liz joined Dale Carnegie St. Louis in 2015 and purchased the St. Louis territory four years later. In 2021, she expanded the territory to Kansas City.  Seeing the impact of her work and finding opportunities to be creative are what motivate Liz in her career. In no particular order, Liz loves her husband and kids, doing ninja warrior, and banana pudding ice cream. Liz has worked with clients like T-Mobile, Nestle Purina, Bunge, Keeley Companies, McCown Gordon, Boeing, Hunter Engineering, Alberici Constructors, UniGroup, Express Scrips, and many more.
